Founded as a way to honor the state's most dynamic businesses

and their contributions to our state's economic vitality, the Fastest Growing Companies

program has turned into arguably the Palmetto State's most sought-after recognition for rapidly

growing organizations.

All told, over 1,000 different fast-growing businesses have been nominated for honors, and

more than 170 different organizations have been Top 25 award recipients in the nine year period

since the program’s inception.  This program aims to pay tribute to a diverse and exceptional

array of businesses, as showcased through last year’s winners.  The 2010 winners represent a

broad spectrum of industries and categories, including, developers, retail, financial and banking

services, medical centers, technology, apparel and construction. 

Today, ownership of South Carolina's Fastest Growing Companies is held by The

Capital Corporation, which executes the program. Joining as co-sponsors are 

Dixon Hughes, PLLC,Greenville Business Magazine, Pee Dee Business Journal,

Columbia Business Monthly.  The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce continues in

an associate sponsor role as they have since the program's inception

Now in its tenth year, the exclusive ranking honors the achievements of the fastest-growing

companies across the state for their numerous contributions to South Carolina's economy. 

Winners represent a myriad of  industries - manufacturing, technology, services, healthcare,

medical, hospitality and more - provided that they have been in operation for at least three

consecutive years and have a minimum of $3 million in annual revenues ($50 million in assets

for financial institutions).  All nomination information is held in strict confidence, and a weighted

formula taking into account growth in revenues and employment is applied to determine winners.

Submission information is validated with personal interviews with the submitting organizations.

This year's top 25 highest-ranking companies will be honored at South Carolina's Chamber

of Commerce Annual Summit on Nov. 10, 2011 at Wild Dunes Resort near Charleston, S.C.

In addition, the Top 25 companies will be featured in a regional print and broadcast advertising

and publicity campaign.
